The "Print and Mail" booking form is now in the booking section. The weather has been great these last couple of days - but icy this morning! Very festive... all we need now is some snow and that would make a traditional Christmas.
Sarah and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you next summer for a long hot season!!
29 November 2007
The website has been brought up to date with the tariff for next year - the Special offers are better value than 2007!! Online booking is available now and the "Print and Mail" form will be on the booking page shortly.
7 September 2007
We closed last Sunday and the weather has now changed - glorious sunshine and all the "locals" are basking in what is a very welcome heat wave!! I was fortunate enough to be part of the team that welcomed David Bellamy to Dawlish Warren on 31st August. Visiting the Warren Nature Reserve and surrounding area to sea how tourism and conservation can work hand in hand.
Press Articles :: Herald Express -- Express & Echo
The Warren Golf Club hosted the visit and provided a super buffet lunch - in his speech Dr Bellamy said Dawlish Warren was in the words of Pa Larkin - "PERFIC"!!
Thanks for staying with us this Summer - see you in 2008.
Have a good winter.
Andrew, Sarah, Bertie and Jack
27 August 2007
It's hard to believe we are in the same year let alone the same week/month!! What fantastic weather over the last 4 or 5 days which looks set to continue to the weekend. We close on Sunday so see if you can come and see us before then.
23 August 2007
Carnival week came and went with the usual flourish of events - a great airshow with the highlight for many being the new TYPHOON. The Procession in the evening was as first class as ever - well done to the entrants!
The rain came back on Monday with a vengeance.... just for the day though. It cleared the air well and truly - it has been fantastic here since Tuesday with a fabulous forecast over the next 5 days. We are FULL until Monday 27th August so come and have a few days with us next week (we close on September 2nd though).
Bertie and Jack have had lots of attention this summer having been on site around 3 days a week. They have made some good friends! I know I go on about it but the walk to the Turf Pub is great and we went up there last Friday for lunch - go and see for your self. (See Dog Walks on Bertie's page for details.)
Hope to see you before we close.
6 August 2007
Some campers went home early as it was too HOT!! Terrific weather over the last week and plenty of sunbathing and swimming. The fair has been in Dawlish with some great new rides. Here are 2 NEW attractions to think about if you are staying with us. A real maze in a maize field! DevonMaze.co.uk looks great fun and is just 5 minutes drive from us. Also on the "adventure theme" is a "Recyled Art in the Landscape" Sculpture Trail - stretching from Dawlish Warren to Shaldon - have a look at the website for ideas.
If you haven't made it to us yet this year there isn't much time left - we close on Sunday September 2nd, so give us a call and we'll see if we can find you a pitch.
31 July 2007
What a change in the weather - fantastic!! It's back to the "golden globe" and very warm temperatures - medium range forecast is good too. Updated availabilty on "Booking Form" page - or give us a call with the dates you are looking for - 01626 864411, 8.30am - 10pm.
27 July 2007
We have got off lightly with the weather! We have had showers - some heavy but it remains warm and the sun appears most days! The "Dunkirk Spirit" lives on here in the Westcountry and folk are enjoying themselves - if you are reading this from a waterlogged part of the country you have our deepest sympathies - the TV pictures look dreadfull.
Fingers crossed for Teignmouth Carnival Procession this evening and we are all looking forward to Dawlish Carnival Week 11- 18 August. Let's hope August turns into the "hot and sunny month" this year, and on that note I'll sign off.
17 July 2007
Oh dear.... what a start to the summer. We have had a few days sun and in the main it has been warmish. Last year we were basking in the sun and thinking there was an upside to gloabl warming. This year we are seeing the effects of climate change perhaps? Anyway I have just removed the online booking links as availability needs to be checked over the phone - preferably between 8.30am and 6.30pm. Call 01626 864411 with a payment card to hand. This weeken sees the start of the main holiday season and we are looking forward to seeing our regulars again - have a safe trip. Bertie and Jack have been frequent visitors to the site this last week or two and I expect they will be coming in to see there friends over the next month too. See you all shortly!
22 June 2007
A bit damp this week.... not to worry the sun is out now! and hopefully we have seen the last of the wet stuff - time will tell. We are getting plenty of bookings for the peak weeks so if you require electric hookup facility please call 01626 864411 to check availability, especially between 21 July and 11 August.
16 June 2007
We opened yesterday! Great to see our "regulars" on the opening night. The forecast kept a few folk away but we only had the odd shower here. Remember Dawlish Warren is in a "micro climate" - keep an eye on the webcam for realtime weather!
Hope to see you this season. The "peak" weeks are booking fast - don't leave it too late!
28 May 2007
The "Locate Us" page has been updated to include some online maps from Google showing alternative directions to us for those busy Saturdays in the School Holidays.
26 March 2007
The "What's On" page has been updated to the best of my knowledge! Steam train fans will also be pleased to know that for 10 Sundays the Torbay Express will be running - full details here.
Bert and Jack can't wait to get back to "work" this summer, they have had a good winter and spent some great days on Dartmoor...
The 2007 Tariff has been uploaded and the secure online booking form is back in action - so you can make your reservations when you are ready!
I said it this time last year and I am saying it again...
It was a busy summer! - Sarah and I were really pleased to meet you all - we look forward to welcoming you in 2007. The electric hookups went very quickly - so don't leave it too late to book for the summer!
We re-seeded the grass on the whole site in September and had a fair amount of rain in the last few weeks which has done the camping fields a power of good!
Sarah and I will take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and if you are off on a New Year "rally" have fun - we'll see you in June.
Andrew, Sarah, Bertie and Jack
