Just a quick note to say that there is a webcam (located at The Mount Pleasant Inn) looking towards the beach. ***Webcam looking towards the beach*** HERE
11 December 2008
The website has been updated with the 2009 Tariff - we have kept the prices more or less in line with 2008. As always the best value is with our Special Offer so come then if you can!
Dates for your diary:
Dawlish Carnival Week is 15 - 22 August 2009. (Airshow and Carnival Thursday 20th August)
Bank Holiday is 31st August.
Sarah and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - see you in 2009!
27 October 2008
Just found a great video showing the Air Show highlights on youtube...
15 October 2008
Just back from my holidays - Scotland is a long way.... Well the Leadstone season came to a close in early September with a blustery week. Thanks for staying with us this summer and do come and see us again in 2009. I am in the process of finalising the tariff so keep an eye on the site in the next month. Our Tourism Group - Dawlish Warren Tourism has revamped their website and have set up an appeal for donations to fund a second webcam down at the seafront, if you are feeling generous you can make a donation here.
Bertie and Jack always find it strange at the end of the season - they don't need a lead and charge around the site finding all the tennis balls lost in the hedges!
All the best
23 August 2008
What a barrel full of weather we have endured this last week - still the rain has gone and its back to "normal" - well its dry and reasonably summery! Tomorrow sees the Firework Display taking place which was postponed a couple of weeks ago. It follows an afternoon of Olympic celebrations on the Green at the Warren which will include hoisting the Olympic Flag for 2012 and a lot of family entertainment from 3.30pm.
We are opn till Sept 7th and have some great offers for the last week - 2 adults and a tent for £50 for the week or add a Touring Caravan and electric hook up for £20; £70 for the week!!
Give us a call and come on down - they are forecasting an Indian Summer like we had in the "old days"....
12 August 2008
Bit of a disappointing start to Carnival Week... Fireworks were postponed on Saturday night because the wind was blowing the wrong way. They have been rescheduled for Sunday 24th August. Plenty of other things going on though despite the blustery weather!!
3 August 2008
Just collected the Carnival programmes (£2 each in Reception) - looks like another great week of entertainment for all the family. New this year are Helicopter rides - £30 per person - a great way to see our coast!!
1 August 2008
We are pretty much full until 15th August but still welcome your enquiry. Bank Holiday is getting very busy - phe now to avoid disappointment! The weather took a bit of a turn on Monday evening and we have had some liquid sunshine as it is known in the trade.... Still warm and blue skies during parts of the day. Fingers crossed for a return to dry and sunshine! The big event that we are all looking forward to is the Carnival week and their website is up to date at www.dawlishcarnival.co.uk . Don't forget the week kicks off on Staurday 9th with entertainment and fireworks on the Warren.
Great to see so many old faces and plenty of new ones too! Trying camping for the first time since you were a young'un has brought back many memories I am sure.... Hey, Sam, if you are reading this - hope your mum and sister are well, quite a few of your friends have been asking after you. Needless to say Bertie and Jack have missed you too!
That's it for now - see you sometime this season?
14 July 2008
We only have a few vacancies with electric hook up for the weeks 2 - 16 August so give us a call before booking. Standard pitches are no problem as I write. Weather has not been too clever with some wet days this last week however it looks brighter now! Powderham has some good gigs at the end of the month - have a look here. Bert and Jack have not been on site this week but will put in an appearance this week I am sure! If you are coming to stay with us later this summer and want to make sure you see them just mention it at Reception and I will do my best to have them on site sometime during your stay.
30 June 2008
I'll say it anyway and hope it doesn't backfire on me - what fantastic weather! Those visitors who have been with us a fortnight have done very well for sun. The evenings have been a little cooler but with July and August fast approaching the evening temperature will hopefully rise so long glasses of wine can be savoured as the sun sets - cheers!...
I took some pics last evening - not many folk about as all seemed to be watching the Euro Final...
We are filling up fast for August so don't leave it too late to book!
...Coming by car and worried about fuel costs? Once you are at Leadstone you need not use your car as we are 10 minutes walk to the beach and 25 minutes walk into Dawlish Town. The bus stops at our Entrance (every 15 minutes Mon-Fri and 20/30minutes Sat/Sun) Weekly family "rover" tickets are available too. The rail link is great with the trains stopping hourly - as a guide - at Dawlish Warren.
16 June 2008
We're open!!! What a great start to the season - both with weather and visitor numbers. A few spots of rain yesterday but otherwise bright and sunny. Looks like being relatively quiet for the next few weeks until the schools break up so if you can come now you will get the low season rates / Special Offers (7 nts pre-booked) AND traffic free roads!!
See you soon?
You don't need to book - just call in!
10 June 2008
Just a few days to go before we open and the site is looking fantastic!
Jack doing last minute checks of the fields - the lazy way!!
Dawlish Warren beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for an unprecedented 10th consecutive year, full credit to Teignbridge District Council for this outstanding achievement.
There is a Continental Market coming to Dawlish on June 20-22 inclusive so if you are about do take a look at it.
Pictures taken at Teignmouth on Saturday evening.... just a few miles along the coast from us and well worth a visit.
Hopefully see you all during the coming season!
25 April 2008
"What's On?" events page is now up to date. More will be added as we are made aware of dates, etc. The Powderham music event 25-27 July looks fantastic; Boyzone/Toyah/Heaven 17/ Katie Melua - something for everyone!!
4 April 2008
10 weeks today we will be open, doesn't time fly? The site is taking shape nicely now that the winter has gone (hopefully!). Bookings are coming in steadily so don't leave it until the last minute, we don't want to dissappoint you! Bertie and Jack are re-acquainting themselves with the wildlife on a daily basis - keeping the rabbits on their toes!
